Emily & Pat wanted their wedding day to reflect the timelessness of their relationship.
They started dating during undergrad, then continued onto adulthood together, showing that their love was not just a phase. It’s a love with deep commitment & genuine passion, which would stand the test of time. Thus, they decided to get married & continue on their lives together on the Upper East Side.
For the wedding day, they leaned into timelessness by incorporating lots of b&w touches, white florals, & a vintage NYC taxi (a personal fave of mine). All of which can be viewed in this blog post <3
Their first look & couples portraits held so much anticipation &
lent itself to so many beautiful moments where they were simply theirselves in front of the camera. Beauty (& personality) & all.
This brought us to photos with their wedding party, comprised of
Each other’s siblings, some cousins, & dear friends who’ve been along for the ride of their love story. Then on to family photos!
The moments when guests are first arriving
are some of my favorites. There is such nervous excitement (nerves are good, they show you care!) as the couple hides away before the ceremony. & the guests buzz around, some meeting for the first time, & others reuniting after time a part. All anxiously awaiting the couple making their walks down the aisle, & saying yes to forever with each other!
Now, for the ceremony.
Full of lots of tears, laughs, & a low five the bride’s father gave the groom.
After Emily & Pat took a few minutes to themselves,
they rejoined their guests joyfully, full of countless embraces & snacking on the incredible cocktail hour food.
The beginning of their reception was a stunning start to their marriage, &
quickly evolved into the party of a lifetime, as any good wedding reception tends to do.
Toasts were full of sentimental stories,
well wishes & welcome advice, & a healthy amount of roasting as most sibling toasts do.
Now, remember how this blog post is titled “Old School New York”?
Well, everything about them is old school & timeless at the same time, but what really clinched the deal to secure them that Old School New York title was the vintage taxi they brought in for their grand exit. I mean c’mon, what’s more old school new york than using the same taxis that were featured in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?!
