I consider myself more of a Brooklyn person. When it comes to the borough I love most, that is where my loyalties lie. It is nothing against Manhattan, it’s just that my partner & I live in Brooklyn & all our favorite spots are here too.
However, I’d photograph this Manhattan wedding time & time again.
DANTE & HIS GROOMSMEN GOT READY AT HIS & ERIN’S APARTMENT IN THE HEART OF CHELSEA, WHERE THE FIRST CAPTURE ON FILM FOR THEIR WEDDING DAY WAS TAKEN.
Erin first inquired with us because of her love for film, & so many moments captured throughout the day were made much more magical by the medium. Here’s a mix of film & digital from both the boys getting ready at their apartment, & the girls getting ready at the Bryant Park Hotel.
AFTER GETTING READY WAS WHEN THE REAL MIDTOWN MAGIC BEGAN.
Erin & Dante had the unique honor of getting married in one of New York.s most iconic cathedrals: St. Patricks
QUITE THE FIRST KISS AS A MARRIED COUPLE.
After hugging with many of their guests on the steps of the cathedral, we booked it up to Central Park along with their family & wedding party for some formal portraits, with candid moments captured along the way.
AS WE ARRIVED TO THEIR RECEPTION VENUE, THE BRYANT PARK GRILL,
we took a moment for a few more couples portraits as they walked into their balcony cocktail hour.
ST. PATRICKS WAS A BUCKET LIST VENUE TO PHOTOGRAPH FOR SURE, BUT MY FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM THIS WEDDING
was during their toasts. From tears, to looks of love, to laughter, the loved ones of these two showed so much support that brought out the best of human emotions.
THIS IMAGE OF DANTE & HIS MOM IS ONE I WOULD NOT HAVE SHARED A YEAR AGO.
It’s grainy. A little blurry. I had to crank the ISO & bring down the shutter speed in order to not use the flash, because the moment was too tender to disrupt with a bright light to the face.
But after a year of leaning into real, raw moments, the imperfection of life in order that demonstrates the authenticity of a moment, this image has become one of my favorites I’ve ever captured.
AFTER THE DEEP EMOTIONS OF THE PARENT DANCES,
There were countless moments of excitement & fun, till the evening ended with cake cutting & smashing.
