& raised in Brooklyn, having melded your family for over 10 years, tears of joy are bound to emerge. That they did at Liberty Warehouse in Redhook Brooklyn on this October wedding day.
The first look was no pressure,
no expectation for any one type of reaction. They were just themselves. Best friends who are madly in love with each other. Kenny’s first words out of his mouth when he saw Kate was something along the lines of “Duuuuuuuuude, you look BEAUTIFUL.” & then they laughed & cried, & were their authentic goofy selves.
This is what a first look is like at its best. It’s not the fact that they both cried, but the fact that they were both authentic to themselves.
The group photos & moments in between warmed
my heart as it was truly two families coming together to be one. Fusing their siblings & different cultures together to make one larger family.
The ceremony was incredibly personal,
with vows written by Kate & Kenny, & nostalgic anecdotes from the officiant. Something I loved was how Kate honored her Jewish culture in a way that felt right to her, by both her & Kenny stomping on glass at the end of the ceremony.
Cocktail hour was full of views of the Manhattan skyline
as the sun perfectly set. Kate & Kenny are people who love hard. Not just each other, but also their friends & family, & that was so clear in how excited everybody was to celebrate these two!
The reception was non stop fun,
with people sliding on the dance floor, toasts by parents & siblings who are professional writers & stand up comedians, singing feliz cumpleaños to Kenny’s abuelo & once, again, dance floor moments that will live on in till the end of time.
